Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a tattoo appointment?

Tattoos appointments are requested by submitting a request form through my Jotform link, found here. Fill out the required information and I will answer you with a date once I am able to. Please note that turn around time for a reply varies from 1-3 weeks, and not every request is guaranteed an answer.

How do I book a piercing appointment?

Piercings are self-booking via the Tats & Tox scheduling link, found here. Simply select the piercing you want, who you want to do it, and the calendar will populate with available appointments to select from.

What if I only want a price estimate or a consult for a tattoo but I’m not ready to book?

You can DM me with pictures, and information such as size, placement, and colour, and I will answer at my earliest convenience.

What are your pricing for tattoos?

Pricing is determined based on size, time, and complexity, as follows:

-Palm-sized or smaller: flat rate; this means I decide a fixed price based on complexity and tell you the price beforehand. This price will not change with how long the tattoo takes. Pricing will range from approximately $100-400.

-Larger than palm-sized: hourly rate, $150/h; pricing is based on the time the tattoo takes, charged in 15 min increments.

-Multi-day/sleeve pricing: hourly rate, $120/h; a reduced rate for XL pieces that will require more than one full-day (6h) appointment.

*all prices are subject to 13 % tax

What is your pricing for piercings?

Piercing prices range from $60-120. Pricing is on both our booking website and the Tats & Tox Instagram page.

Where are you located?

In a private studio in Lindsay, Ontario. Our address is 26 Peel Street on the second floor, in the back room of Lash KL.

How do I know your space is clean and safe?

Our location has been inspected and passed by our municipality’s Public Health department. You can view our history of inspection at this link. A pass with Public Health means that our private studio is just as clean and safe as any other tattoo & piercing provider in a commercial space.

What is your availability?

My schedule is Sunday-Thursday, 10am-5pm.

Do you require a deposit to book a tattoo?

Yes, I require a $75-200 deposit to book any tattoo appointments. This amount will go toward the total of your tattoo. ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, no exceptions.

What is your cancellation policy?

You may reschedule your appointment up to 72h before your date/time without a penalty. You have up to 6 months to pick a new date for your appointment, and you may only reschedule once. After 6 months or if you choose to reschedule a second time, you must repay the deposit to rebook.

Any rescheduling request with less than 72h notice before your appointment is an automatic forfeit of the deposit.

Outright cancellations without the intention to rebook result in the deposit being forfeited, regardless of the time frame.

What forms of payment do you take?

Preferably cash or e-transfer, however credit card and debit payments are also available.

Do you tattoo clients under the age of 18 with parental consent?

Unfortunately, I do not. You must be 18 or older to be tattooed by me.

What are your age requirements for piercings?

You must be 16 or older to obtain a piercing without a parent/guardian present.

We only pierce ages 6 and older. Piercing options are based on age, as follows: 6-12 may only get ear lobe piercings. 13-15 may get nose, naval, and any ear lobe or cartilage piercing. 16+ may get any piercing except nipple or genital piercings. 18+ may get any piercing.

Note that for anyone under 16, a parent or legal guardian is required to be present and sign the consent forms. You may be asked for proof of relationship. The child MUST verbally consent to the procedure. If they are refusing to consent or are visibly upset we will not continue with the piercing.

Can I bring a friend to my appointment?

Of course you can! We have a small sitting space for them. We just ask that unless the appointment is for a group of people, please do not bring more than one support-person.

Do you tattoo fingers/hands?

Yes I do, but please make sure you are well educated on the finickiness and maintenance of these tattoos before deciding you want them. There is a highlight on my Instagram page with information about this.

Do you do tattoo cover ups?

No, I do not.

Do you do scar cover ups?

Yes, I do. When submitting a booking form please include a picture of your scars so I can determine if they are ready to be tattooed or not.

Do you touch up other artists’ work?

I do as long as their style is similar to mine. Please include a picture of your existing tattoos in your request form.

Do you do custom tattoos?

Yes, this is a vast majority of my work. Please use my booking request form to request a custom piece.

What is a ‘flash’ tattoo?

The term “flash” means a design that I’ve made and released to the public to claim. Flash designs are just random pre-made tattoo artwork that anyone can book if they like the tattoo. There are two types: repeatable flash, and one-time flash. Repeatable means the design is always available, no matter how many people have gotten it tattooed. One-time means that the design is unique, and once one person claims the art and gets it tattooed, the design is no longer available to others.

Can I bring food/drinks to my appointment?

Absolutely! But also please remember to eat immediately BEFORE coming in, as it’s crucial to prevent fainting.

Can I bring and wear headphones to my appointment?

Of course you can! I encourage you to please do whatever makes you most comfortable for your appointment.

Can I bring my child to my appointment?

Unfortunately no, the studio is not a safe place for children. Unless the child is the one with an appointment for a piercing, we have a strict no children under 12 policy.

Do you require face coverings or masks? And do you wear masks?

You are not obligated to wear a face covering, and we do not wear them by default. That said, we understand that you or someone you love may be immunocompromised, in which case please notify us ahead of time and we are very happy to wear a mask during your appointment.
